Developing general understanding involves many parts coming together. Sight, sound, memory, and motor skills must move forward together for mental growth to proceed.
Many brain and body skills advance on a tide of growth and expansion as general understanding increases. The determining factors are your baby's sociability and personality, and environment you create for him. You can help your child's brain to grow and develop by providing the stimulation as set out in the chart, and it is particularly important for you to do so in the first year of life, and again in the third year, both times when the brain goes through major growth spurts.
