the shooting will be this week, but time & date wasn't confirm, so we are anxiously waiting!!!

this year is coming to its end. & as always, i yearn for a holiday trip to "Rest & Relax". so where shall we go?

Australia Gold Coast? Hong Kong Disneyland?

now with 2 kids, i always look out for this type of theme parks so the boys won't feel bored.

but now, i also realise, it's not easy to go for a holiday. when i was young, my friends will do all the necessary bookings. (i was the youngest, they are older.) now, just browsing through the phamplets or websites, i was confused and cannot decide to do what first.

but for sure, hotels & air tickets must be booked in advance. thus, searching the cheapest rate for these 2 is a must!

during year end, lots of competition can be seen. (horray for us!!) with this tough situation, i've found 1 site call "CheaperthanHotels South Africa" but it's not just South Africa, there's other links to European Countries (& many others) as well.

and so, i shall slowly browse through this site, then decide where to go next year.

mummy's nightmare

2 nights ago, i had a terrible nightmare. but funny thing is, i didn't wake up in cold sweat or heart pounding.

it started when i brought the boys out to meet a friend. after that, we went to Marina Bay or Square (?), i cannot be sure because i remembered we stood by Singapore River. and there are a lot of contructions working: they are building new shop lots along both side.

after that, we went inside the shopping center, and very fast, we are home. & my mom ask me "where is yu chen?" only then, i realise yu chen didn't follow me home!!

i feel so horrible and horrified!! hurried back to the shopping center and get the security to help me find him.

right there, i woke up. i took a deep breath, then turn to check on them, especially if chenchen is still breathing. (because they love to sleep on their tummy)

somehow, i could not find 'one of these days' through my pile of stuff. and even worse when my boys fall sick so often lately. (all the curses to viruses and germs!!)

i have no doubt on my boys' sibling's love, especially gorgor towards didi.

today is 1st august. they have long waited for this month to come. firstly, its their birthdays. then, we "promise" chen if he throw away his old zhutzhut, we will buy a new 1 - Thomas the tank engine design in august or September his birthday.

and suddenly, heng remembers our 'promise' and he tells me
"mummy today is august orady!! we mus go get thomas zhutzhut"

sudden burst of cold sweat. i look at didi, he didn't seem to respond to gorgor's line.

so i tell both of them "ok, but must see the zhutzhut then can buy right??"

*phew!!!!!!

time flies in bullet speed - it's august already. time for birthday planning.

if we are lucky, we can go Singapore and meet up with my friends. (due to the increase cases of H1N1 cases, hub worry and ask us don't go back. but the boys' faces sank immediately.)

heng's birthday is always in the school holidays, lucky him! this time he wanted to celebrate in Singapore, i told him, how about we celebrate in Malacca - he rejected my 'offer'.

anyway, saw this cafe in Bugis Junction when i am searching for Wong Kok Char Chan Teng. (because there's birthday offers & i have vouchers)

boys' clothings

hengheng is super sensitive to the cloth's label at the back of the shirts. many a times, we have to remove the label so he is willing to wear.

lucky chenchen is less fussy, so buying him new clothes is a lot happier experience. but i was very frustrated by the number sizes on all the brands' labels. does a 3 year old wear a size number 3? does Medium = 3-4 years old clothings??

recently saw a buying guide from Shopwiki.com and it helps me get a clearer picture.

very seldom we buy toys for the boys, we prefer books and reading material. but the toys in Shopwiki.com is very educational! (and very much to my likings ^_^)

my boys grow up liao (haiz.. meant i am old already )

chen pass by a stall in parsar malam few weeks ago, and he was attracted to the song "Let's Twist again" because his kindy has played it for them in school (last year was the PN's performance song)

so, chen dance with the CD (FIL bought for him) when he came home.

i prefer this video "Chubby Checker - Let's Twist Again" it has lyrics so we can sing together

Sixty Uses Of Baking Soda

Bicarbonate of soda or baking soda has many different uses in the household. Although much more expensive products have been developed over the years to do the same jobs, baking soda can work for you just as well, if not better. Use it in the following ways: 1. To make your own baking powder, stir and sift together 2 parts of Cream of Tartar to 1 part baking soda and 1 part cornstarch. 2. Be sure to keep an extra box of baking soda by your stove in case of grease or electrical fire. Scatter the powder by the handful to safely put it out. 3. Keep a container of baking soda in your garage as well as in your car to put out a fire. It won't damage anything it touches. 4. Baking soda will also put out fires in clothing, fuel, wood, upholstery and rugs. 5. Clean vegetables and fruit with baking soda. Sprinkle in water, soak and rise the produce. 6. Wash garbage cans with baking soda. 7. Soak and wash diapers with baking soda. 8. Oil and grease - stained clothing washes out better with soda added to the washing water. 9. Clean your fridge and freezer with dry soda sprinkled on a damp cloth. rinse with clear water. 10. Deodorize your fridge and freezer by putting in an open container of baking soda to absorb odors. Stir and turn over the soda from time to time. Replace every 2 months. 11. Soda absorbs kitty litter odors. Cover the bottom of the kitty box with 1 part soda; then add a layer of 3 parts kitty litter on top. 12. Always add 1/2 cup soda to your washing machine load. 13. Clean combs and brushes in a soda solution. 14. Wash food and drink containers with soda and water. 15. Wash marble-topped furniture with a solution of 3 tablespoons of soda in 1 quart of warm water. Let stand awhile, then rinse. 16. Clean formica counter tops with baking soda on a damp sponge. 17. Wash out thermos bottles and cooling containers with soda and water to get rid of stale smells. 18. To remove stubborn stains from marble, formica or plastic surfaces, scour with a paste of soda and water. 19. Wash glass or stainless steel coffee pots (but not aluminum) in a soda solution ( 3 tbsp. soda to 1 quart water). 20. Run you coffee maker through its cycle with a soda solution. Rinse. 21. Give baby bottles a good cleaning with soda and hot water. 22. Sprinkle soda on barbecue grills, let soak, then rinse off. 23. Sprinkle soda on greasy garage floor. Let stand, scrub and rinse. 24. Polish silverware with dry soda on a damp cloth. Rub, rinse and dry. 25. For silver pieces without raised patterns or cemented-on handles: place the silver on aluminum foil in an enamel pot. Add boiling water and 4 tbsp. baking soda. Let stand, rinse and dry. 26. Reduce odor build-up in your dishwasher by sprinkling some soda on the bottom. 27. Run your dishwasher through its cycle with soda in it instead of soap to give it a good cleaning. 28. To remove burned-on food from a pan: let the pan soak in soda and water for 10 minutes before washing. Or scrub the pot with dry soda and a moist scouring pad. 29. For a badly-burned pan with a thick layer of burned-on food: pour a thick layer of soda directly onto the bottom of the pan, then sprinkle on just enough water so as to moisten the soda. Leave the pot overnight, then scrub it clean next day. 30. Rub stainless steel and chrome with a moist cloth and dry baking soda to shine it up. Rinse and dry. On stainless steel, scrub in the direction of the grain. 31. Clean plastic, porcelain and glass with dry soda on a damp cloth. Rinse and dry. 32. Remove that bad smell from ashtrays with soda and water. 33. Sprinkle a bit of dry soda in your ashtrays to prevent smoldering and reduce odor. 34. Clean your bathroom with dry soda on a moist sponge - sink, tub, tiles, shower stall, etc. 35. Keep your drains clean and free-flowing by putting 4 tablespoons of soda in them each week. Flush the soda down with hot water. 36. Soak your shower curtains in water and soda to clean them. 37. To remove strong odors from your hands, wet your hands and rub them hard with soda, then rinse. 38. Sprinkle baking soda on your wet toothbrush and brush your teeth and dentures with it. 39. Sprinkle soda in tennis shoes, socks, boots and slippers to eliminate odor. 40. Add 1/2 cups or more of baking soda to your bath water to soften your skin. 41. Putting 2 tbsp. of baking soda in your baby's bath water will help relieve diaper rash irritations. 42. Apply soda directly to insect bites, rashes and poison ivy to relieve discomfort. Make a paste with water. 43. Take a soda bath to relieve general skin irritations such as measles and chicken pox. 44. Take 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water to relieve acid indigestion or heartburn. 45. Gargle with 1/2 tsp. baking soda in 1/2 glass of water. Freshens and cleans your mouth. 46. Used as a mouthwash, baking soda will also relieve canker sore pain. 47. To relieve sunburn: use a paste of baking soda and water. 48. Bug bites: use a poultice of baking soda and vinegar. 49. Bee sting: use a poultice of baking soda and water. 50. Windburns: moisten some baking soda and apply directly. 51. Making Play Clay with baking soda: combine 1 1/4 cups water, 2 cups soda, 1 cup cornstarch. 52. Use soda as an underarm deodorant. 53. If your baby spits up on his shirt after feeding, moisten a cloth, dip it in baking soda and dab at the dribbled shirt. The odor will go away. 54. When scalding a chicken, add 1 tsp. of soda to the boiling water. The feathers will come off easier and flesh will be clean and white. 55. Repel rain from windshield. Put gobs of baking soda on a dampened cloth and wipe windows inside and out. 56. Add to water to soak dried beans to make them more digestible. 57. Add to water to remove the "gamey" taste from wild game. 58. Use to sweeten sour dishcloths. 59. Use dry with a small brush to rub canvas handbags clean. 60. Use to remove melted plastic bread wrapper from toaster. Dampen cloth and make a mild abrasive with baking soda.

check ur TM bill !!

last year, around Oct, we received a letter of notice, telling us that we didn't pay 1 month usage for and they will include the unpaid amount into our next bill.

thus, i decide to split this extra amount and pay throughout 2 months. Nov & Dec i pay slightly more then the current month usage, e.g. cur RM150, pay RM180.

but by Dec, we still have outstanding amout unpaid. and TM (being so efficient) called our house phone, saying we have $200+- outstanding, if not paid will cut line.

2 days later, they cut the line, then we call them. and they explain to us why. we dig our bills out (Oct 08 - Jan 09, lucky i kept them for a year then throw) and double check with what they said.

and horribly, they change their charging system, and double charge us for THE SAME month.

this meant, last time, we always pay back-date month, July we pay for June usage. but when they merge the bills, they decide to charge the next month usage, i.e. July will charge for Aug. then they say we didn't pay for July lah (for example) but in actual fact, we never miss any bill - we paid July bill in Aug!!

so gents & ladies who uses Streamyx, cause now they merge the bill, try to check if you are been double charge like us.

after we make noise, they update their system and found out we only owe them $70, not the $200 as said above.

what every women fear.. Post-Chinese New Year syndrome.. what is this? fatty fats accumlated from all the goodies and food!!

last december, i was slimed down by 1cm (which is alot to me!!) thus i can finally fit into the pants which i put aside, waiting for this day!

my happiness didn't last long, i knew it because CNY was in january 09! my in-laws have started storing tibits and goodies, so did our mouths, transferred the goodies from the cupboard to our tummies! we even had late nights supper. (the killer!)

about 2 weeks ago, i noticed my pants are getting tight. so another round of small diet for me. its die with a T! as i love food! it's so difficult for me to control myself.

and this email came to my attention at this point of time. (coincedence?!) there's a type of diet pills that has proven to lose weight, has patented ingrediets, in a large bottle of 300 capsules!

should i try?

valentine day gifts

its today.. valentine's day.. how many valentine did we skipped? i think at least 4, cause our eldest is 5yrs old this yr. ^_~

so, its time to put focus back on my hubby. i need to shower him with gifts of love :p

there's few on my list - aftershave or iPod, wallet (as usual) or watch

but he never use aftershave, not even shaving cream. though i wanted to buy for him last time, but he said, "don't waste the money, i don't use."

now iPod... i need to find the best bargain... & if i get him this.. i can use it occasionally too! (like his last palmtop. i play games with it :p)

anyway, there's still time, i can find more gift ideas on the net!

KidzSports & Gym

went to KidzSports & Gym at 1 Utama after getting an invitation from the advertiser. we nearly had to give this a miss cause hub's uncle had an accident on Fri afternoon. he was admitted to hospital in the afternoon and was ask to be warded for observation. he didn't had any major injuries as his Nissan car has strong solid metal casing. the ONLY wound he had is the bruise near his tummy due to collision on the steering wheel. THANK GOODNESS!!

back to the topic, at night, hub came home and give me the - ask me to pack our bags.

but it was a rough night, both boys toss and turn and cried! from 2am til 5am. first, heng cried twice, then chen, who always cried the longest and hardest. hub calmed heng down, and i had to carry chen out and we sleep on the sofa for few minutes before carrying him back.

in the end, i couldn't wake up as planned, 6.30am. drag til 7am, wake everyone up, rush in and out. leave the house by 8am. and we manage to reach 1U by 10.30am. and we are just in time! nothing was missed and they have not started.

Friso Brings My Family Out

every kid loves getting out of the house, aka shopping / playground / etc. even just hanging in the front porch excites them. lucky for my boys, my in-law house has 1 grass patch & a front porch.

in the evening, they will push their bikes and push-along-cars onto the grass patch. then "race" down to the front porch (when the family car is not around) and back up to the grass. all the screams and laugh will tell you, they are having so much fun. the whole lorong can hear them.

and every outting is a new experience, (almost every time) a great discovey is made! there's 1 outting to Singapore Botanic Garden, and the 2 boys saw this shiny metal object, 1 tall & 1 short. mummy showed them how to use it - water cooler. and they had so much fun just pressing and 'try' to drink from it. the best part for them - the water is cold!

then, this 1 time, we visited VIVO city's roof top water pool. we had so much fun!

It's my biggest wish to own my very own laptop, for the convenience sake. (I can carry it to singapore.)

So, has been surfing on and off to search for the best bargain. (other then refurbished laptop which suited my tight budget. It's natural for human being to want a brand new product.)

For some time now, Mother-In-Law (MIL) has the urge to change the old bulky television to a nice wide flat screen. But last week, the washing machine breaks down first. So we went to get a new one. Somehow, 1 mechanic came the following day, (AFTER we purchased,) and said, just a mere RM80.00 for repair. (Compared to the previous RM800! That’s why we decided to buy a new machine!)

So, we've call up the IT mall, and change / upgraded to a LCD TV instead! Later that day, I went to take a look at SAVEBUCKETS. And I was glad we did not pay extra for our new addition.

EMAIL: Take care of ur parents

A simple man tells how his booking an air ticket for his father, his first flight, brought emotions and made him realize that how much we all take for granted when it comes to our parents.

My parents left for our native place on Thursday and we went to the airport to see them off. In fact, my father had never traveled by air before, so I just took this opportunity to make him
experience the same. In spite of being asked to book tickets by train, I got them tickets on
MAS.

The moment I handed over the tickets to him, he was surprised to see that I had booked them by air. The excitement was very apparent on his face, waiting for the time of travel. Just like a
school boy, he was preparing himself on that day and we all went to the airport, right from using the trolley for his luggage, the baggage check-in and asking for window seat and waiting restlessly for the security check-in to happen. He was thoroughly enjoying himself and I, too, was overcome with joy watching him experience all these things.

As they were about to go in for the security check-in, he walked up to me with tears in his eyes and thanked me. He became very emotional and it was not as if I had done something great but the fact that this meant a great deal to him.

When he said thanks, I told him there was no need to thank me. But later, thinking about the entire incident, I looked back at my life. As a child how many dreams our parents have made come true. Without understanding the financial situation, we ask for football, dresses, toys, outings, etc. Irrespective of their affordability, they have satisfied to all our needs. Did we ever think about the sacrifices they had to make to accommodate many of our wishes?

Did we ever say thanks for all that they have done for us?

Same way, today when it comes to our children, we always think that we should put them in a good school. Regardless of the amount of donation, we will ensure that we will have to give the child the best, theme parks, toys, etc. But we tend to forget that our parents have sacrificed a lot for our sake to see us happy, so it is our responsibility to ensure that their dreams are realized and what they failed to see when they were young, it is our responsibility to ensure that they experience all those and their life is complete.

Many times, when my parents had asked me some questions, I have actually answered back without patience. When my daughter asks me something, I have been very polite in answering. Now I realize how they would have felt at those moments.

Let us realize that old age is a second childhood and just as we take care of our children, the same attention and same care need to be given to our parents and elders.

Rather than my dad saying thank you to me, I would want to say sorry for making him wait so long for this small dream. I do realize how much he has sacrificed for my sake and I will do my best to give the best possible attention to all their wishes. Just because they are old does
not mean that they will have to give up everything and keep sacrificing for their grandchildren also. They have wishes, too.

movie time

we went to Melaka Mall today, instead of Dataran, as we knew for sure, there's no parking on a Saturday (& sunday)!!!

there's only 2 shows seems good enough to watch - Eagle Eyes & Tropic Thunder.
so hub ask, u wanna watch fighting show or funny show. i was blur "what funny show? (both names don't seem to be any funny)"

he replied, it's about few men shooting a war movie, but end up in a real war. so i say, ok funny movie. i need some light entertainment.

Tropic Thunder

not a bad movie, had a few good laughs. but the most suprising is i saw TOM CRUISE. i was pretty sure of myself when he appeared 2nd time. his eyes, his mouth cannot be covered by the makeup. (thou i cannot recognize him when he 1st appear. the make up is really NOT HIM!!)
go and watch this film when you have the time (some alone time with your spouse) and see if you can guess which is he!

i got diarrhea again!

not again.. last month i just had a servere case of loose motion. now, it's back! why is my system so weak!!

so this is what i should and should not eat.. sigh..

Until diarrhea subsides, try to avoid milk products and foods that are greasy, high-fiber, or very sweet. These foods tend to aggravate diarrhea.
As you improve, you can add soft, bland foods to your diet, including bananas, plain rice, boiled potatoes, toast, crackers, cooked carrots, and baked chicken without the skin or fat. For children, the pediatrician may recommend what is called the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast.
For children, doctors often recommend a special rehydration solution that contains the nutrients they need. You can buy this solution in the grocery store without a prescription. Examples include Pedialyte, Ceralyte, and Infalyte.

my hub's cousin went to Singapore (from Malacca) to work for the 1st time. he's a fresh grad, so all the expenses will have to keep to the minimal. 1st thing to do in the list - find a roof over his head!

i had ask my friends, and he also went online 1 month before he set off to work. we helped too.

and i saw this - singapore online classifieds

it has more then what we need. the categories are all listed out neatly and clearly. we found what we are looking for easily!

我的孩子念幼稚園時，禮拜六、禮拜天，偶爾會帶孩子逛百貨公司，順便買些東西，逛逛書店。

出發前我會跟孩子說：「明天我們去逛百貨公司，你們想不想去？」「想去！」

我說：「去的時候，當然會帶你們到玩具部，但是如果你們不講理，到時候在那個地方耍賴，那麼你最好不要去，能夠約束自己的人才去。」

他們說：「我們要跟你一起去。」

「好極了，那就必須講好，爸爸和媽媽都是上班族，一共只有這些錢，不能超支，所以我們出去時先買吃的、穿的、用的和文具，這是用錢的優先順序，對不對？」

「對！」「再來就是買你們的玩具。」「對！」

我又說：「如果有剩錢，一定會去買玩具，我們儘可能多留一點錢，不會疏忽玩具的。如果最後我們的錢買不起玩具，那就要衡量我們剩下的經費來買，這樣贊不贊成？」

他們齊聲說：「贊成！」第二天就高高興興、浩浩蕩蕩的出發了。

出發前我還會先徵詢：「如果想省一點、多留一錢買玩具，我們就不搭計程車，坐公車去。」

孩子想一想說：「坐公車、坐公車。」節省的精神就出來了。

一路上我們有說有笑、高高興興的在街上散步，到了百貨公司，東西都買好了，就一起到玩具部去。

快到玩具部之前，我總是會蹲下來提醒他們，別忘了我們現在只有這些錢了，如果你要買玩具超過我們的預算，我們就可以把錢省下來，下次來時再積兩次結餘的錢來買。

他們就問：「老爸，那你一共還有多少錢？」

我就說：「你看看，就這麼多。」這樣一來，他們很快就學會算術了。

一進去，他們看完後說：「老爸，我要買搖控汽車，那一部車子我最喜歡。」

我問：「好啊，可是我們今天的錢夠不夠？」

「不夠。」

「那怎麼辦？我出一個點子好不好？」

「好。」

「那我們就盡情的把所有的玩具，看個過癮再回家。我們今天就不買玩具了，下一次我們儘量剩錢來買那個玩具，可能要分兩次或三次的結餘，才有辦法買，這樣好不好？」

他說：「好！」於是我們專心的欣賞玩具。

看完後再問他們：「買不買？」他們說：「不買。」

我覺得不好意思，就說：「那個小老鼠一隻才五塊錢，我們買一隻好不好？」

他們說：「好吧，也好。」就各買一隻玩具小老鼠。到了百貨公司門口，

我說：「你們表現得太好了，我們到地下室買根棒棒糖鼓勵自己。」就一人拿了一根棒棒糖，高高興興、浩浩蕩蕩的準備回家。

「現在是搭計程車好呢？還是坐公車好？」

他們說：「坐公車好。老爸，這個錢要省下來，是要買那個玩具的哦！」

小孩子從這樣的活動裡學會了如何累積、如何節省，甚至學會了一種很重要的習慣 ─ 延緩報償的習慣，不會非要不可。

一個人如果看上了一樣樣東西就非要不可，那是一種很大性格缺憾，台灣話叫「破格」，是很不好的。

我們要慢慢的從生活當中，去培養孩子基本的生活習慣，他就學會負責，知道自己該負起什麼樣的責任。

隔了一段時間，孩子都長大了，不願跟我們一起去百貨公司。

有次我和太太去逛百貨公司，兩個人逛呀逛的就到了玩具部，我看到了驚心動魄的一幕。

有個媽媽抬高聲音說：「上個禮拜才買，這個禮拜又要買。」

儼然在告訴大家，我的孩子不講理，我不給他買原因是上個禮拜才買過，不是不買給他。

我覺得這個媽媽有點心虛，不給孩子買玩具有什麼好丟臉的？不買就是不買，要講清楚，可是她的方式有點走樣，這個孩子又非要不可，她就拖著他走，那個孩子兩隻腳蹬著不走，她就啪啪兩下好響亮、好清脆的耳光，孩子哇的哭了起來，她拖著他慢慢消失在人群中。

我看到那一幕，感覺到很多父母，不了解怎麼帶孩子，所以我一直希望天下的父母都能知道怎麼把孩子帶好，建立一個讓每個孩子都有信心，能夠在生活上適應得很好的社會。

hub's laptop crash

hub's laptop crashed.. so did my heart.. because all the photos he uploaded in it, was gone too!

today, the computer genius BIL came back to collect the hard disc to see if it can be fix. if it can be fix, then we have an external drive. LOL. and i can back up all the photos in my pc into it.

i think i only uploaded 80-90% of the photos in hub's laptop. but luckily, the recent trips i've all uploaded in multiply.

black-hearted human beings

if the vitim is your friend, you will feel the shiver down your spine! because it was so near to you!

i just read my blogger mummy friend, jesmine. she was been "attacked" by an old man. i think he never realise his little tiny joke can bring out so much diaster!

let his fingers rot and get burnt in return!!

power failure again

i think for the past few months, there's a power failure EVERY MONTH - not failing us... it always happen in the middle of the night. then the boys will become warm cause they are wearing long sleeves pyjamas.

but yesternight, think chenchen had a "feeling", no matter what i try, he won't change his sleeveless into Mickey Mouse long sleeve. so i thought let him sleep deeper, then i change. who knows, at 1am, power was cut off. so there's no air con & no fan.

heng start to toss and grumble, so we have to remove his long sleeves and change into a sleeveless.. haha, chen was ok.

then, the wind started to blow strong, it seems like going to rain. so hub suggested bring both of them to sleep in the living room, can open the door and have natural wind.

when we carry the mattress and the boys out & settle them down. 5 minutes later, power came back.. so carry everything back into the bedroom again. but never change them back into sleeves as we always set the air con on timer. i got hungry, and we ate Maggi Curry for super later super.. @ 1.45am

BUT THEN!! who is the family that always triggle the power failure?? who uses the appliance that needs drains so much power, that it was cut off from the main supply?? this is an old neighbourhood, unless the owner has rebuild the house, all the wiring and casing are the old-fashioned type, easily triggle power failure...

saw this trailer in Hallmark, and i thought it must be an old movie showing in Hallmark. so i started to pay attention to its showing date.

but i was wrong! it was a brand new movie in cinemas! i saw its advertisements when watching Wall-E.

so there's 2 show today, 4pm & 11pm. both wrong timing for us to watch. we went to the cinemas at 2.30pm, as the boys napped at this hour. no nice show to watch. so i suggest to use the money to eat.. and we spend RM30. (2 tickets RM18 + popcorn combo RM6 = RM24) hehehe, we spent more. i like to spend money recently. think i feel pressured. i even grind my teeth!!

it makes me angry to know there's such foolish and stupid people walking around.

there's this woman who chatted with hub thru a trade portal. yes a trade portal! so unprofessional of her...

she started off like a decent woman, chatted about normal things.. then suddenly, she ask if hub is a virgin!! stuff she chatted later on & days later - all about sex..

she had a part time job at night in a clinic. she ask hub if she can ask the doctor, how to know if a girl is a virgin. WTF this girl is doing - acting cute or dumb. (hou tin zhen, hou shor!!)

she really ask the doctor next day, the doctor just smile back, day after they did IT in the clinic. it's bound to happen since she ask such asshole question. actually, to think of it, she WANTED IT with the doctor, just an excuse to triggle it off!!

then, hub even tell me, she sleep around in her office. 1 staff last day, she gave him oral. so hub ask her did they do it? she replied - of cause no! i am not the easy type!

oh F-off!! if i am chatting with her. i will reply her - go check dictionary on the meaning of easy - sui bian! obviously you do not know the meaning of this phrase. you can even ask your own boss (day time job) if he wants it! and slept with so many people. chatting with you just disgrace myself. * logged off*

and why did she do all this? because she broke off her boyfriend... #$%&%$@

wow! so fast my lunar birthday is here..

and since today is a public holiday, we decided to go Port Dickson seaside. (only during the trip, i remembered it was my lunar birthday)

it started to rain when we are reaching PD. AARGHHH!! it's not ordinary small drizzle, it's raining cats & dogs!! thunders and lighting!!! so scary as we cannot even see clearly.

12pm, then the rain stops. wow! we started the journey around 8am. we should have been playing in the water at 11am.. and the sun become so fierce at noon. only 20min and chenchen's shoulder start to turn red! lucky i put sun block on him already. hub brought him back to me (i was playing on the beach, also act as bag-guide) and we started rubbing tons of children sun block on both of them. so another 10min, we pack our things.

and because it's my 1st time with kids at the beach, i pack alot of things. but only brought 2 bags down. so our bathing gel and shampoo and changing clothes are all in the car!!! >_<

hub had to stop at a petrol kiosk on the way home, so he can change his wet pants :p

we had lunch in Pizza Hut. and both of them finishes a plate of spaghetti & meatballs!! they fall asleep after 30mins of driving. chenchen even had the energy to sing 3 songs before his eyes closed. heng? he cannot even talk, so tired. hahaha!!

我們是不是也是這樣的父母?

我今年二十歲，目前因故休學，在一家安親班打工。
安親班鄰近便利商店，孩子很喜歡去那裡買東西。

常見包子吃一口就丟，飲料喝半罐就不要.

洋芋片才吃兩片，就買一包別的來吃。
這些孩子平常也喜歡偷藏別人的東西開玩笑，愛看人家著急的神情。

我曾多次制止，他們卻毫不覺得不妥，甚至腦筋還動到我的火車月票上。

我生活一向儉約，身上很少帶超過五十元。

失去月票，我回不了家，只能投宿朋友家.

而我怎樣也沒有想到--竟是他們偷拿我的東西！
他們非常聰明，一直等到月票過期了才拿出來還給我。

我說，這種行為是不對的，我會寫在聯絡簿上告知家長。

這些孩子竟然從錢包掏出兩千元摔在我面前：

「小氣鬼，才兩千，賠妳就是了！」
「才」兩千元嗎？

我還不到可以老氣橫秋地說

「我們那個年代啊……」的年紀，

我也沒嘗過貧窮的滋味，

但那兩千元也是我辛苦從生活費中儉省下來的，是我半個月的生活費啊!

這些孩子竟然可以這麼不屑地從錢包?

掏出來摔在我面前！

這讓我想起之前某一次當家教，

我看那個孩子家中並非十分富裕，

醫科生的我，時薪是可以索價五百到七百元的，但我只要了時薪三百元。

我認真地教他，無奈學生不用心，

總是想聊天，不想聽課，

後來竟挑明了說：

「要不是我媽說,上妳一小時課.給我五百元，我才不想聽妳講這些無聊東西呢！」

原來請我當家教，比請他當學生便宜多了！
我不知道這些孩子的家庭是否真的很富裕，但他們生活的態度簡直像暴發戶。

這樣對孩子好嗎？

父母不能供應孩子一輩子!

是不是應教會"孩子節儉".比期望孩子以後能賺大錢.維持闊綽生活，可實際多了。

昨天我在教室的白板上心痛地寫下：

「一粥一飯，當思來處不易；

半絲半縷，恆念物力維艱。」

這是一個很古老的諺語，但我不認為這不合時代。

教給孩子這個美德，是留給他們一項比萬貫家財還要重要的資產。

因為自己.小時候過得辛苦，便盡量給孩子好日子過的家長"請深思"，這樣究竟是愛孩子，還是害了孩子。

捨不得孩子吃苦，將來他會更苦！
許多父母養小孩是把孩子捧在手心上，怕他凍著、怕他餓著、摔著．．．
其實這種過度的保護，

只會讓他更低能、更依賴、更不知如何面對人生的大風大浪。

hub finally decides to let the current admin go, he's not satisfied with her performance. so after much consideration and calculation (of her salary and our household expenses), we decided that i went back to help him. and we sent both boys to full day child care in heng's current kindergarten.

i am sure 99% of you out there have visited the C- mega mart in Suntec. (or any shopping malls in Malaysia). so have you encounter this? or is it my bad luck...

we are shopping in the C- mega mart. (in Melaka) we need trash bags so went to the desinated shelves. there're L, M & S size for C- home made products, which are the cheapest. hub ask, "hey, this is only 30pc, how about other brands." i checked, and they are the same quantity.

thus, settle on C- trashbags, and i took 2 bags - both same color (blue) and quantity, even the design n publications looks the same.

so the story starts when we pay. as usual, i check the receipt to see if there's any double entry. then realise, the 2 trash bags are of different pricing!! RM1.50 & RM2.10!

so i start digging for the items, and realise, AHHHH!! we took the wrong brand!! and i am sure i took the 2 items from the same shelve.. arghhhh! did they (C- staff) do it on purpose or by mistake?? is this a gimmick to let us (blur blur housewifes) pick up 2 of the "identical" items "by mistake"?? and so they can earn an extra 60cents!!

i cannot believe it.. we are married for 7 SEVEN!! years already...

we ROM on 2002, next year is 2009. and we accomplished 2 kids, with 1 small car, no own house (yet). and still have 2 debts to pay.

quite a bumpy ride, i say. but we will be seeing each other for many more 7years to come.

when we first heard about this from our gynae, both of us took a deep breath and discuss about it for days. then i start to do some research online to know more.

there are a few sites online about this, but i frequent cryo-cell more than the others because of its informative reviews and reports. as a pregnant mom, i do have the gitters and scare of my baby not living when born or after birth. there are times i wanted to bank in heng's cord blood.

but after several serious discussions, we decided to give it a pass this time, main reason because both of us are in pink health, our pre-marital health check came out A+. thus our kids having mishaps (touchwood~!!) is very low.

garbage enzyme - i was 1st introduced to this term by angeline in her blog in Nov 13, '07.

this is a long explaination, but it's not boring at all. too bad it's in chinese. my apologies to those non-mandrain readers.

since then, i thought i will never do such a thing in my IL house cause it was using garbage!! but yeternight's Sin Chew Daily, it was mentioned again, with many details. there's even a talk in KL. so i read to hub, but he didn't pay attention to me. (that night's tv program was about TOP TEN ways conners use) this morning, somehow i accidentally said about this topic again. and his face suddenly beam up bright!

"this is so interesting! you must tell me more!" hub exclaimed as he drived to fetch hengheng. so below is the recipe for making the enzyme. since the quantity they mentioned is quite big, i suggest you readers reduce the amount via ratio to your acceptable amount.

translation:

brown sugar - 1kg
fresh garbage - 3kg
water - 10 liter

method:

pour water and brown sugar into container (ceramic, potery or plastic). stir in CLOCKWISE direction.
put in fresh garbage, i.e. fruit peels, fresh leaves (yes, fallen from trees type!) or, other veggies or plants that you want to throw away. make sure the sugary water covers all the rubbish, if the rubbish floats, push them down.
3/10 percent of the pail has to be left empty for the yeast to work its magic.
loosen the cap /cover to let the gas out everyday. UNTIL THERE'S NO GAS.
the garbage enzyme will be done in 3 (THREE) month's time. do not worry as there will be NO FOUL SMELL. just make sure the lid is coverd properly.

proportion to be use:

fertilizer - 1cc enz : 100cc water
pesticide - 1cc enz : 1000cc water (1 liter)
air freshener - 1cc enz : 200cc water
for new plantation - 1cc enz : 500cc water
anitseptic - 1cc enz : 500cc water
shampoo, shower gel, detergent, dish washer - 1cc enz : 10 times water

here it goes...

This is a true story of a young college gurl who past away last month. her name is Priya. she was hit by a lorry. She have a boy friend named Shankar. Both of them are true lovers. They always hang on the phone. u can never see her without her handphone.

She spends 3/4 of the day talking with shankar. Priya's family knows about their relationship. Shankar is very close with Priya's family. (just imagine their love) . Before she passed away she always told her frens "If I pass away please burn me with my handphone" she also said the same thing to her parents.

After her death, ppl cant carry her coffin. i was there. a lot of them tried to do so but still cant , everybody including me, had tried to carry the coffin, the result is still the same. Eventually, they called their neighbour, a "bomoh" from thailand (pak Darin), who is a fren of her father. he took a sit and started speaking to himself slowly. after a few minutes, he said "this girl misses something here". then her frens told Darin bout her intentions to burn her with her phone. He then opened the coffin and place her phone and SIM card inside the casket. after that they tried to carry the coffin. It could be moved and they carried it into the van easily. all of us were shocked. (can u feel the fear. i'm shaking at this moment)

Priya's parents didnt inform Shankar that Priya had passed away. (pity Shankar). after 2 weeks Shankar called Priya's mom. Shankar :...."Atte, I'm coming home 2day. cook something nice for me. Dont tell Priya that i'm coming home 2day. i wanna suprise her." Her mother replied....."u come home first, i wanna tell u something very important." after he came to shah alam, they told him the truth about Priya.

Shankar thinks that they were playing a fool. he was laughing and said "dont try to fool me. tell Priya to come out. i have a gift for her.pls stop this nonsense". then they show him the original death certificate to him. they gave him proof to make him believe.(Shankar started to sweat)...... He said... "its not true. we were spoke yesterday. she still calls me. Shankar was shaking. suddenly, shankar's phone rang. "see this is from Priya. see this..." he showed the phone to priya's family. all of them told him to answer.he talked using the loudspeaker mode. all of them heard his conversation.

Loud and clear. no cross lines, no humming. it is the actual voice of Priya & there is no way others could use her simcard since it is nailed inside the coffin the y were so shocked and asked for pak darin's help again. pak darin brought his master (Tok Chen) to solve this matter. he & Darin worked for 5 hours. than they discovered one thing...

ever since the lmonitor in the living room crashed, i've been using BIL's pc at his room. but his pc has no photoshop or any photo editing software. so the only way for me to play with my photos - upload them to photobucket and do simple editing there.

otherwise, i will be using PAINT. is PAINT even consider a editing tool???

bad news

this morning, both boys wake up and start playing noisily. but 2 of their uncles are still sleeping. so i use hub's handphone to call back home, so they can be constrain in our bedroom chatting with wai gong, instead of running in out of the bedroom.

i had tummyache thus went into the toilet. then i heard hub chatting on the phone. i was wondering is the voice his or the neighbour.

when i came out, he call me over and told me a bad news: my dad was hospitalized!

this morning around 6am, he woke up covered in pesperiation, and he said he can't feel his pulse and his heart was pumping weak. he also has difficulty in breathing. immediately, my mom woke my brother up and rush my dad to Mt Alvernia.

the doctors did a check up and came out to tell my mom that my dad was OK, nothing is wrong; his cholestrol, blood pressure, etc. all in normal range. so my mom ask the doc, is this due to the late night soccer watching, the doc just smiled back.

so just for safety precaution, they admited my dad into ICU for observation. my mom and brother will be going back at night to see if my dad can be discharged. the doctor say he can be discharged, so hopefully nothing will pop up!

i can't say he's rude, or self-center. but he's such a unique case. here's what happen...

when a younger generation saw an older generation, he/she will call/address the uncle/auntie. and the uncle/auntie will response either with a nod/smile, saying 'hello/emmm', etc.

this man treats you transparent! no matter how loud you call him, or stand right in front of him, he just ignore your calling, walk right pass.

so eventually, nobody calls/address him.

but with the elders & equivalent status, he can chat with them nicely.

my vocabulary is poor, i cannot find a word to describe him!!

Horrible story of mine goes back to year 2005 March.

I ordered a Club Sandwich and a Sprite in a restaurant somewhere in Manila . When I finished half of the sandwich I sipped a sprite. But it didnt taste like an ordinary sprite I used to drink. So I sipped once more, but it still tasted the same. It tasted like a sprite mixed with some kind of oil. I called the clerk and asked him if the sprite was expired. He said it was just delivered today. So I asked him to taste it. Then he also found that something was wrong with it.

Both of us were wondering for a while. Then I got to look inside the straw. There were a lot of tiny black round things that looked like eggs. So I cut the middle of the straw lengthwise to have a better look. Yuck. There were a lot of tiny black round things in it. I suppose they were eggs of cockroach. About 1000 eggs were there. Then I began to check all the other straws in the straws case one by one. Almost all of them contained black eggs that seemed to be either the cockroach eggs or excretions.

After the incident I began to check all the straws in the restaurants and fast food chains that I had gone to. Almost of all the straws contained the same black eggs. Especially the darker the colors of straws, the more black eggs were found. In black straws, extreme amount of black eggs were found. It was found out that it's because the cockroaches live (hatch eggs and excrete) in the dark places.

* 80% or more restaurants in the malls use red or black colored straws .

SO NEXT TIME.... BE CAUTIOUS... CHECK THE STRAW BEFORE YOU PLACE IT INSIDE THE DRINKS.

rusty in blogging

so long never blog, got a bit rusty in my fingers and mind.

we enjoy alot in Singapore. we = me, heng & chen. basically, the boys bug me to go out everyday.

my dad & me brought the boys to a neighbourhood barber to shave their head. i have 2 NS boys now. washing their hair is so easy & fast!!

hub & me always think the boys can stay in Singaore for 14 days. because there's 1 time when heng is only 1yr+-, we overstayed! we went back home on day 15, and was called into the custome office to have another chop before we can go home.

so since then, we never read the chop on the passport, just only make sure their passports are chopped. Wednesday we are coming home, and Tuesday, i read their chop out of curiousity. and realise they can stay for 30 days already!! it was somewhere back in mar 2005!!! so i was happy! December holidays, we can stay longer!! hehehe

so, tomorrow must ask his form teacher how's his attitude in class. but since young, he is always like that, he learnt things not by paying attention! don't know how he did it...

whole family not feeling well

everyday we all sleep late. because we all went to grandparent's house for lunch & dinner. (but a good news for me as i am not a good & keen cook :p)

thus, everyone in the LEE family gather there and catch up (chitchat) abit. the boys enjoy so much as there's 2 dogs there, 1 is an old dog and another new puppy dog. puppies are playful, like them. so, especially heng, played so rough with it. ah gong 1 time let the puppy loose, and heng played with it til he falls down on the carpet grass. a scene i only saw on AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS. hahaha!

since we all had less sleep, flu bugs slowly catch up with us. both boys are coughing, but heng has dry cough, & chen has lots of phelgm in his throat. both of them are sniffing. hub & me have sore throat. yesterday brew a pot of barley, and it cured my sore throat but it came back today. (can't remember what i ate to trigger it back.)

i am giving both boys alot of warm water and hopefully they sleep more to chase the flu bugs away!!

tired Mother's Day

if you had read my twitter, you know that hub's grandpa has pass away on friday evening. thus we had a tiring and sad Mother's day.

since it was the 3rd day of the furneral, we had to 'da chai' - chant and walk round. we walk 3 times, and each time, at least 10 rounds. 1 of the relative commented, it was more tiring than playing ball!!

i felt chenchen's thigh as i changed him just now, it was so tough! LOL, trained his musslces as he walk 1/2 of each round with me. i was curious about heng's, so i went over. ayyyee.. it was soft. he didn't walk enough. kakakaka.

worst of all, blur heng brought back the wrong mother's day gfit!! he brought home his classmate's work.

so 2 mommies Mother's Day was ruin by a blur boy. inherited by his papa, it was a terminal disease.

so i've manage to scan in the 2 month's electric bill - Feb 08 & Mar 08

as you can see, prevous month was 300+. and hub said one day, why don't we do this way, how much you save in a month, is how much your allowance. but of cause i rejected his proposal. hehehe. nonetheless, we have made such huge savings in this household! i think MIL has never seen her house bill less then 100 before :p

today's internet is so slow!!! i cannot even login to my MSN Messenger!

hotmail or icqmail takes forever to load a picture!!

i on and off the power supply to the modem so many times, since morning til 4pm!! and all i can load is blogger or multiply. blogger still loads faster than multiply.

i have totally forgotten why i had log online this morning!! now, i am trying to put a picture to the bullet list, because the last LINKY LOVE post didn't show the bullets at all.

electric bill drop like a bomb!

WOO HOOO!!!

for the past few months, since we start paying the household utilities, the electricity bill was around RM200. so last month, i started a trial and error way to see how much money we can save. that is : switching off all the power plugs when we sleep.

so first item will be the television and it's connected parts (cable and hi-fi). have told hub to switch off the power supply instead of just pressing the "off" button on the remote control for the 3.

and the computer and modem will be switched off constantly, at least 2 hours per day. and our lightings at night are lighted at certain areas.

and today, the latest bill comes into the mailbox. and since i can't understand malay, i took the bigger figure as the current month's bill : RM145. and we had a brought-over figure of RM85. so our total bill this month was not a big killer = RM230.

when hub was back for lunch, i showed him the bill proudly! then he read and say, NO LAH! LAST MONTH'S USAGE WAS ONLY RM85, the brought-over figure was RM145.

wahhhh, i drop my jaw...

Baby Bottle Tooth Decay / Early Childhood Caries

Inappropriate feeding of children can lead to a typical nursing pattern decay. One term used for this type of caries is Baby Bottle Tooth Decay (BBTD), others include nursing bottle caries, nursing caries, bottle caries, infant caries, early childhood caries etc…

This is a very devastating type of tooth decay for the young patients, their parents, and the pediatric dentist. Overall water fluoridation and other methods of fluoride application have resulted in reduction of caries rates. BBTD persists as a decay pattern and requires our special attention.

Early recognition and intervention are essential to successful treatment and prevention of disease progression.

Caries is an infectious disease. Several factors need to be combined to develop caries.

teeth need to be present
bacteria need to be present
a substrate (food for the bacteria) needs to be present
caries requires time to develop

These are the major factors involved in the caries process. The combination of the factors leads to disease, if one or more factors are missing disease may not develop.

Teeth

Primary teeth usually start to erupt in the first year of life. The first teeth to erupt at approximately 6 months are the lower central incisors followed by the upper central incisors. At 12 months usually all lower incisors and all upper incisors are erupted. The eruption time is highly variable and I am not concerned about variations of up to 6 months.

Bacteria

One of the important bacteria in dental caries is streptococcus mutans. S. mutans does not appear in the oral cavity of infants until after tooth eruption. S.mutans itself does not adhere to the teeth very well, it requires other plaque forming bacteria for initial colonization. Most likely infants become infected from their parents, siblings or other individuals with close contact. Usually the mother is considered to be the source. Infants whose mothers harbor very high levels of s.mutans (mothers that have a very high caries risk and rate) become colonized more readily than infants of mothers with low s.mutans levels in their saliva. A minimum infective dose is necessary to develop caries. Disease prevention should include preventive therapy for the parents. "We all have bad teeth" may actually mean we all have the same bacteria.

Substrate

The substrate for s.mutans comes from juice, milk, formula, or any other liquid sweetened with fermentable carbohydrates. Commercially available sugar teas lead to rampant infant caries in Germany in the 70s and 80s ("Zuckerteekaries"). A favorite trick among parents in the UK used to be to thicken vitamin syrups with honey or other sugar syrup to ensure long feeding. The pacifier dipped in honey is another bad habit. Honey needs to be avoided in the first year of life. It has been associated with cases of infantile botulism. The botulism spores have also been detected in commercial corn syrups. One thing I recently saw in the U.S. are baby bottles with soda labels. Unfortunately I have also seen children with soda in their bottle.

Time

Bacteria and substrate need to be present for a prolonged time to allow demineralization and caries progression. The bottle at nap time or bedtime is most dangerous. Fluids may pool around the teeth for hours. The teeth primarily affected by that are the maxillary incisors. Lower teeth are in general less affected since they are covered by the tongue.

Nursing pattern decay has also been reported with prolonged and unrestricted nighttime breast-feeding. The stagnation of milk about the neck of anterior teeth and the fermentation of the disaccharide lactose, a sugar found in milk, contribute to this caries process. Under usual feeding regimens neither bottle nor breast milk predispose to caries.

The typical high risk child will use a nursing bottle far beyond the first birthday. If infants are allowed prolonged access to the bottle its use may become habitual. The result is the toddler that is never seen without a bottle. These children may have a very high inappropriate caloric intake or the high fluid intake may cause the child to keep away from other foods, which leads to an overall poor nutritional outcome.

Weaning from the bottle or breast during the "terrible twos" can be extremely challenging. This struggle can be avoided by making the transition to the cup earlier in life, preferably shortly before or after the first birthday. At 4 to 6 months of age infants develop muscle control to close the mouth and may be introduced to nonliquid foods and the cup.

Bottle feeding past 12 months of age leads to a drastically increased caries risk.

infants should not be put to sleep with a bottle containing a liquid other than water
infants should be encouraged to drink from a cup prior to their first birthday
infants should be weaned from the bottle at 12-14 months of age
infants should start to supplement their diet with nonliquids at 4-6 months of age
juices should only be offered from a cup
oral hygiene should be started with eruption of the first primary tooth
within six month of eruption of the first tooth (no later than the first birthday) it is time for the first dental visit

Treatment

The treatment options for established BBTD vary depending on how far the disease has progressed.

Very early detection of demineralization on teeth, chalky white spots or lines, may allow to remineralize teeth with fluoride application and diet modification. The first dental visit will help to evaluate your child's caries risk . Your pediatric dentist will discuss methods of disease prevention.

If obvious decay is present full coverage of the teeth with stainless steel crowns or veneered crowns is indicated. Adhesive fillings have generally a very poor prognosis on anterior primary teeth as far a retention and recurrent decay are concerned.

If decay reaches the pulp chamber pulp therapy or extractions will need to be considered. Space maintenance is in general not necessary (anterior primary teeth are usually spaced, space maintenance is a concern for posterior primary teeth).

Young pre-cooperative children may need sedation or general anesthesia to accomplish treatment. Your pediatric dentist will be able to discuss with you which behavior management option is the best for your child.
